The Velocity XL is a high-performance, amateur-built aircraft produced by Velocity, Inc.. It's an enlarged version of their Velocity SE model and is known for its speed and efficiency. The Velocity XL is a fast aircraft, with cruise speeds exceeding 200 knots (230 mph) with a Lycoming IO-540 engine. Some variants with upgraded engines and features can achieve even higher speeds. It has a good range, with the standard XL having a cruising range of 875 nautical miles (1,007 miles) and other configurations offering even greater range. Its takeoff and landing distances are relatively short. A total of 190 Velocity XL aircraft have been built.
