The Supermarine Type 379 Spitfire FR Mk XIV (often written as FR14) is a late-World War II, Rolls-Royce Griffon-powered fighter-reconnaissance variant of the legendary British fighter. It represents one of the most powerful and technologically advanced evolutions of the Spitfire lineage, heavily optimized for low-to-medium altitude tactical reconnaissance and combat operations. A total of 957 Mark XIV Spitfires were built. Of this total, it is estimated that over 430 were manufactured or purpose-built as the FR Mk XIV (Fighter-Reconnaissance) variant, which featured specialized camera ports and additional internal fuel tanks.
