Polikarpov Po-2

The Polikarpov Po-2 (originally designated the U-2 until 1944) was an iconic Soviet utility biplane designed by Nikolai Polikarpov in 1928. With an estimated 20,000 to 33,000 units manufactured, it stands as one of the most produced aircraft—and the most produced biplane—in aviation history. Though initially built as a low-cost, forgiving flight trainer, it achieved legendary status during World War II as a low-altitude night bomber and later served as an asymmetric threat in the Korean War.
