The Piper Colt (PA-22-108) is a two-seat, light, high-wing monoplane, produced by Piper Aircraft from 1961 to 1963. It was designed as a lower-cost, two-seat variant of the Piper Tri-Pacer. The Colt is known for its simplicity and is often used for flight training. 2,000 Piper Colts were built during its production run from 1961 to 1963. The Colt was a two-seat, Lycoming O-360 powered aircraft designed as a trainer and club aircraft. It was based on the Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer, but with modifications like the removal of two seats, the rear door, and one fuel tank, and an elimination of flaps.
