Emery Worldwide Airlines was a major American cargo airline headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, that operated from 1981 until it permanently ceased operations in December 2001. As the aviation subsidiary of Emery Worldwide (a pioneering freight forwarder dating back to 1946), the airline grew into one of the world's largest heavy air freight carriers, specializing in business-to-business shipping and high-priority U.S. Postal Service contracts. At its historical peak, Emery Worldwide Airlines operated a total historic fleet of 56 Boeing 727s, consisting of 42 Boeing 727-100Fs and 14 Boeing 727-200Fs.
