The Dornier Do 28A-1 is a twin-engine STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) light utility aircraft manufactured by the German company Dornier Flugzeugbau GmbH. Derived from the single-engine Do 27, it features a highly unorthodox layout where both engines and the main landing gear are mounted on lower stub-wing pylons beneath the cockpit nose. This distinctive engineering choice maximized part commonality with its predecessor while minimizing asymmetric yaw in single-engine flight conditions. 270 units of the Dornier Do 28 were built across its distinct variants.
