The de Havilland DH.112 Venom is a British post-war, single-engine jet combat aircraft developed and manufactured by the de Havilland Aircraft Company. First flying on September 2, 1949, and introduced to frontline service in 1952, it served as a crucial performance bridge between first-generation straight-wing jet fighters and later swept-wing, axial-flow designs. A total of 1,431 de Havilland Venom aircraft were built. This global production figure encompasses all standard land-based variants, the carrier-capable Sea Venom, and the French license-built Aquilon derivatives.
