The Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet is a highly successful, twin-engine advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft co-manufactured by Dassault Aviation of France and Dornier Flugzeugwerke of Germany. First flown in October 1973, the aircraft remains active across multiple global militaries, private defense contractors, and civilian airshow circuits. A total of 512 Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jets were built between 1973 and 1991. The Franco-German collaboration produced both advanced trainers and light attack aircraft, with 329 of those produced being exported to several countries.
