The RotorWay Exec is a popular family of two-seat, skid-equipped, homebuilt kit helicopters manufactured by RotorWay International. Originally introduced in 1980, the Exec series allowed aviation enthusiasts to build and fly their own aircraft using prefabricated components. Its design evolved from the older RotorWay Scorpion, upgrading to an aluminum tail and a full fiberglass cockpit enclosure. The RotorWay Exec series (including the Exec, Exec 90, and Exec 162F) had hundreds of units sold worldwide as amateur-built kits. While exact individual tallies for every sub-model vary, RotorWay International stated that over 900 total RotorWay helicopters were flying globally by 2007, with specific iterations like the Exec 90 accounting for around 200 sold and hundreds more for the later Exec 162F.
