The Lockheed Constellation (affectionately known as the "Connie") was a historic, propeller-driven airliner that served as a cornerstone of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines' post-World War II long-haul fleet. Renowned for its distinctive triple-tail design and dolphin-shaped fuselage, the Constellation was the first widespread civil airliner to feature a pressurized cabin, allowing KLM to fly passengers comfortably above turbulent weather. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines operated a total of 48 Lockheed Constellation and Super Constellation aircraft between 1946 and 1962.
