The Kamov Ka-26 (NATO reporting name: "Hoodlum") is a highly unusual, Soviet-built light utility helicopter designed by Nikolai Kamov. First flying on August 18, 1965, this iconic aircraft was built as a flying "Swiss Army knife" to serve general civil aviation and agricultural needs. It is widely celebrated for its modular architecture and distinct engineering choices. A total of 816 Kamov Ka-26 helicopters were built.
