The Antonov An-28 is a twin-engined light turboprop transport aircraft originally designed by the Antonov Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. Developed as a modernization of the older piston-engined An-14, it is highly regarded for its robust construction, spacious cabin, and exceptional Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) capabilities. A total of 191 Antonov An-28 aircraft were built . While the aircraft was originally developed by the Antonov Company in Ukraine, serial production was licensed to the Polish manufacturer PZL-Mielec in 1978.
