The Questair Venture is an American homebuilt, high-performance kit aircraft famously nicknamed "The Flying Egg" due to its distinctive, ultra-compact egg-shaped fuselage. First flown on July 1, 1987, it was designed by a team led by former Piper engineer Jim Griswold to achieve near-jet cross-country speeds with an efficient, all-aluminum airframe. Approximately 62 to 90 Questair Venture aircraft have been built. Because it is sold as an amateur-built kit plane, the exact number is difficult to pinpoint, but aviation registries and the Questair Venture community estimate that around 30 to 60 planes are still actively flying today.
