The Aeronca Chief is a single-engine, light aircraft with fixed conventional landing gear and two seats in side-by-side configuration, which entered production in the United States in 1945. Designed for flight training and personal use, the Chief was produced in the United States between 1946 and 1950. Â Approximately 2,418 Aeronca 11AC Chief aircraft were manufactured between 1945 and 1950. While total production of the 11-series (including 11BC and 11CC variants) is often cited as over 2,300 to 2,400+ units, the specific 11AC model constitutes the bulk of this post-war production.
