The Zlín Z 42 is a Czechoslovakian single-engine, two-seat trainer and utility aircraft manufactured by Moravan Aviation (now ZLIN Aircraft). First flown on October 17, 1967, it was developed to replace the successful Zlín Trener series and introduced a side-by-side seating configuration for flight instruction. There were 193 original Zlín Z 42 aircraft built during its primary manufacturing run.
