The Piper PA-24 Comanche is a single-engine, low-wing, all-metal light aircraft, designed and built by Piper Aircraft between 1957 and 1972. It was one of Piper's first all-metal, high-performance aircraft with retractable landing gear, aimed at competing with aircraft like the Beechcraft Bonanza. The Comanche was produced in several variants, including the 180, 250, 260, 260B, 260C, 260TC (turbocharged), and the 400. A total of 4,857 Piper PA-24 Comanches were built during its production run from 1957 to 1972. This includes all variants of the single-engine, low-wing aircraft.
