The Airbus A300 is Airbus' first production aircraft and the world's first twin-engine, wide-body airliner. It was developed by Airbus Industrie GIE, now merged into Airbus, and manufactured from 1971 to 2007. Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) operated 13 Airbus A300B4 aircraft in their main fleet between 1984 and 1991. These aircraft were primarily used for Caribbean and domestic routes following Pan Am's acquisition of these widebodies. A later, separate entity operating as Pan Am (1996–1998) utilized a different fleet, which included 8 A300B4s
