The Lockheed JetStar II is a prominent and historically significant business jet, known for being one of the first dedicated business jets to enter service. It was a development of the original Lockheed JetStar, built to meet noise regulations and improve performance and fuel efficiency. A total of 40 Lockheed JetStar II aircraft were built. These were a new production version of the JetStar, featuring Garrett TFE731 turbofan engines and revised external fuel tanks. The JetStar II production took place from 1976 to 1979. The overall JetStar production, including both the original JetStar I and the JetStar II, totaled 204 aircraft.
