The Helio H-250 Courier II (also marketed widely as the Courier Mark II or nicknamed the "Caballero" for South American export markets) is a rare, specialized light utility short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft introduced in 1964 and certified in early 1965. Developed by the Helio Aircraft Corporation as a lower-cost, more economical alternative to the standard Helio Courier, it swapped out the complex and high-maintenance geared engines of its predecessors for a simpler, direct-drive powerplant. 500 single-engine Helio Courier aircraft were built. Production ran from 1954 to 1974 by the Helio Aircraft Company in Pittsburg, Kansas.
