The Grumman J2F Duck is a highly versatile, single-engine American amphibious biplane that served every major branch of the United States military from the mid-1930s until just after World War II. Known for its unique, ungainly design featuring a massive central pontoon blended directly into the fuselage, the Duck was a rugged military workhorse deployed for air-sea rescue, reconnaissance, photography, target towing, and light bombing missions. A total of 584 Grumman J2F Duck aircraft were built.
