The TA-4KU Skyhawk is a specialized, dual-seat training variant of the legendary Douglas A-4 Skyhawk light attack aircraft. Developed by McDonnell Douglas, this specific variant was custom-built in the late 1970s for the Kuwait Air Force (hence the "KU" designation). It served as an advanced operational trainer to prepare pilots for Kuwait's single-seat A-4KU attack jets. Only four TA-4K Skyhawks were ever built. They were a highly customized, dual-seat version of the A-4F Skyhawk manufactured exclusively for the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF). All 14 original Kiwi Skyhawks (ten A-4K and four TA-4K) were delivered in 1970. In the late 1990s, Brazil purchased a batch of surplus Skyhawks from Kuwait. This included 3 of the original TA-4KU twin-seat trainer variants, along with 20 single-seat A-4KU models.
